The Kagere Coffee Factory was established and is operated by the Othaya Farmers' Cooperative Society. Grown on the fertile slopes of Mount Kenya, this coffee is prized for its vibrant complexity.

After coffee is delivered and sorted, it is immediately depulped using disk pulpers, fermented underwater in concrete tanks for 15-24 hours and washed three times before being spread on traditional raised beds where it dries under constant monitoring for 6 to 7 days until the moisture content achieves the targeted 11-12%.

The area where the coffee grows is forested with a wealth of exotic wildlife, receiving 50 inches of rain per year. The soil is rich and volcanic, providing smallholders and cooperatives with resources to grow and process some of Kenya's most fruit-forward coffees.
